CommUNITY Storytelling:
Moving From 'Me' to 'We' to Help Families & Babies Thrive

The Butler County Partnership to Reduce Infant Mortality (PRIM) is leading a commUNITY movement to address health disparities in infant prematurity, birth weight, and helping more infants reach their first birthday.  Our infant mortality rates in Butler County are high, especially for African American babies (where there is a disparity of 3x the rate for infant deaths). We ALL play a role in supporting healthy moms, families & babies, but it takes a commUNITY response.

Many of our own personal experiences can give voice to the problem we are trying to solve. Our voices and our stories are powerful. As the community works together to make sure that every baby and every mother is able to thrive, we seek to tap into the transformational power of storytelling. Storytelling is at the heart of the connection and community building. We all are storytellers- but how can we leverage the power of our voices, stories, and experiences to make Butler County a place for everyone to thrive?

From Me to We: CommUNITY Storytelling is an opportunity to hear from you, your experiences in a community storytelling gathering.
Join us on Sunday, December 8th from 1-5 pm to connect, heal and mobilize for good. In an increasingly fast-paced world, sharing stories and providing everyone the opportunity to be safe, seen and heard can be a powerful practice to strengthen communities, deepen understanding and help people shift into action.  Our workshop will be lead by local community leaders, trauma & resiliency experts, and creative partners with self-care practices to wrap up our day.  Emmy award-winning Cincy Stories will be documenting the day and will be working towards capturing the in-depth stories of  3 Butler County moms moving forward to help us share the story of infant mortality in our community.
Your voice needs to be heard. New parents, community members, service & health providers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, and neighbors are welcome and invited to attend to share their stories or just to listen & support others!
