Essential Competencies for Middle Managers in Libraries - @NEFLIN & Online (02/19/20)

Managing from the middle of an organization brings a unique set of challenges that others may not face or understand. Whether you’re excited about the opportunity or not, your position as middle manager provides a unique platform to show meaningful value to your organization and your team. It’s also an opportunity for you develop your own leadership skills. 

This 5-Part Blended Learning Series will focus on many of the essential competencies Middle Managers need to be successful in their work including Decision-Making, Performance Management, Creativity and Visioning and Leadership. Whether you are currently in a middle management position or aspire to be in a management position in the future, this course will provide an opportunity to sharpen your skills in managing yourself and others.

Please note that all sessions except for the second are one hour webinars. Session two is an all-day workshop at NEFLIN HQ in Orange Park.

This program includes a pre and post skills assessment, Pre and Post Session work for the attendees to complete, the Learning and Application Worksheet and the Learning and Application Worksheet Follow-Up.

Trainer: Andrew Sanderbeck, People Connect Institute

Andrew has been developing and conducting training seminars for libraries and library organizations for more than fifteen years. He has presented Web-based, On-line, and Face-to-Face sessions on Management and Leadership, Customer Service and Communication Skills in the U.S. and numerous countries around the world. He is the author of two books and over 50 webinars.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff.  Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
