Dealing with Difficult People and the Conflict They Can Create - @NEFLIN (01/28/20)

Chances are, you have dealt with a difficult person at some point in the past (maybe today??). Perhaps your emotions get in the way as you struggle to deal with the difficult behavior “in the moment” and BAM! ...conflict erupts.

This insightful workshop gives you an opportunity to study the whys and wherefores of those difficult people in your life. You’ll learn specific techniques on how to handle the tanks, whiners, and those we call “grenades” (an explosion waiting to happen!), as well as several other “difficult behaviors” – and there are many to choose from!

You’ll discover how using emotional intelligence can help you de-escalate a situation…or keep it from escalating in the first place. You’ll also learn why you sometimes respond differently than someone else does in similar situations.

You will come away from this workshop with a newfound understanding of the reasons some people act the way they do, and the most effective way to respond to those people. We’ll also uncover specific tips for handling those times when conflict rears its ugly head.

Linda has been developing and conducting training workshops for libraries and other organizations for more than fifteen years. She offers workshops on topics ranging from Leadership Skills to Emotional Intelligence – and lots of areas in between!

Linda received her MBA from the University of Florida and has years of experience in hands-on management positions. She develops her workshops based on solid research and – more importantly – real-life application. Linda is also certified with DDI and Achieve Global.
