The Board of Directors Meeting (Board members and invited guests only) will take place in the afternoon from noon until 5 p.m., and the dinner (all members and invited guests welcome) will begin with a festive reception at 5:30 p.m., immediately followed by the dinner program.

Tickets are $219 and should be purchased  no later than Jan. 7. This is a popular event and space is limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged. For information on this event, or for sponsorship opportunities, please contact Sophie You of CalAPA at 916-791-5044. The evening's invited keynote speaker is Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti (pictured below). Born and raised in the San Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, Garcetti began his career in government service on the Los Angeles City Council, where he served four terms as Council President before being elected the city's 42nd mayor in 2013. He won re-election in 2017 by the largest margin in city history.

Garcetti served in the military as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, and has taught classes at the University of Southern California and Occidental College. He received his B.A. and M.A. from Columbia University, and studied as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, and later at the London School of Economics.

Garcetti's administration has touted numerous environmental protection and sustainability initiatives while also focusing on improving essential city services to improve mobility, reduce blight and improve the quality of life for city residents. According to the Mayor's Office, Los Angeles since July 2013 has paved 14,750 lane miles of roads and cut the average pothole repair time by half, and implemented a $1.4 billion sidewalk-repair program. He also led initiatives to reduce homelessness, improve education and economic opportunities. He spearheaded the effort to secure the return of the Summer Olympics to Los Angeles in 2028 and has achieved an increasingly national profile. His official biography page is HERE.
