Cyber Security in Our Lives and
Tips to Stay on Top of It
Member Mixer to Follow
We are living in an Internet delivered world and cyber compromise of your latest privacy data is no longer a matter of "if" but "when." After data breach stories highlighting hacks that have pummeled the reputations of Yahoo, Facebook, Equifax, and other businesses, it's time to educate and protect yourself. At Omnistruct, our vision is to prepare you for when compromise occurs. We have learned a lot over the years and will cover seven tips that we think will help:
1. What exactly is privacy data and how often is it hacked?
2. What can you do personally to minimize your risk exposure of having too much of your personal data exposed?
3. How well are businesses who steward your data protecting it?
4. With convenient apps where we publish our lives online, where and how are businesses actually storing and protecting your data?
5. What rights do you have when it comes to businesses who have and/or use your data?
6. How do you erase your information from the Internet and ask businesses to delete what data they have collected from you?
7. What simple habits can you adopt to be a more secure internet citizen?
By answering all of these questions plainly and sending you home with actions you can take now, and in the future, to protect your digital and non-digital identity, we are confident that you will be ready to do your best at home, and at work, to protect yourself through awareness. Moreover, if you, family, friends, or coworkers handle privacy data, we will give you valuable advice on how to be better handler of data so you can be a good steward of privacy in the Internet delivered world we all enjoy.
