Dirty Dog is an official SXSW venue during the music portion of the festival. “DIRTY FEST” and other such day parties are not official SXSW showcases nor are affiliated in any way with SXSW as a franchise. For any info regarding SXSW Music Festival click here.
However, this festival attracts local, national, and international promoters, label reps, managers, booking agents, photographers, fans and more.
Performers that are selected will receive a minimum 30 minute set with a professional sound system and dedicated sound engineer at one of Austin’s most reputable venues.
For any house sound system equipment questions you may have click here.
The $30 submission fee covers the costs of Dirty Fest providing a professional back-line,sound / lighting technician, door staff / security and marketing.. SXSW traffic and street closures make it impossible to load and or bring most gear. Parking is non-existent. Artists selected will be required to use Drum and cabinet back-line equipment. We realize some drummers must use their own setup and will make certain case by case exceptions. There will also be a selection of guitar and bass heads available. You may bring your own combo amps as well.
Guitars, Basses, Wind Instruments, Cables, Cymbals, Foot Pedals and Snares will not be included. Upon selection a detailed list of all available backline equipment will be provided. Some gear such as Cymbals, Snares and pedals can be rented if needed.
The most current list of back-line equipment will be uploaded as soon as available. We will have professional, industry standard working gear.
Artists and Labels who wish to secure a guarenteed spot at the festival have the option to do so. A guarenteed selection will allow you to request and confirm the best available dates and time slots. The guarenteed selection also gets you an extended set of 45 minutes total.
We are accepting submissions for many genres including but not limited to rock, blues, metal, country, funk, alternative etc.
Selections will be based upon musical creativity, established presence, media buzz and just plain ol’ talent.
Artists selected to perform will not receive compensation or travel expenses to play at these showcases. We are working on some goodies from our sponsors. Those of you who have played in the past can expect the same hospitality this year!
