Doctoral Education in Maryland for Nurse Faculty

You spoke up and we listened!  After our June 10, 2019 summer doctoral information session, we decided to offer more Doctoral Education sessions in different locations throughout the state.

Supported by the Maryland Higher Education Commission Nurse Support II Program, “Doctoral Education for Nurse Faculty in Maryland” will be held at the Universities at Shady Grove on January 14, 2020.  An overview of both nursing and non-nursing doctoral programs in Maryland will be presented and important issues to consider in choosing a program will be discussed.

This workshop will summarize the breadth of doctoral programs in Maryland, compare and contrast DNP and PHD degrees and programs, identify issues to consider in choosing a program including financial support, and describe how to best position yourself for application to different programs.

Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. Register using the link below. If you have any questions, contact Dr. Johantgen johantgen@umaryland.edu or the Graduate Research Assistant Marcella Leath mleath@umaryland.edu.

Thank you for your support as we work to increase nursing graduates and mitigate barriers to nursing education in Maryland.

We hope to see you there!

Registration is offered at no cost thanks to funding from the Nurse Support Program II (NSP II 17-123), which in turn is funded by the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission and administered by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
