The Inclusive Experience of One Deaf/Hard of Hearing Child and it’s Positive Impact on the Whole

Presented by Karen Putz and Stephanie Olson, Utah State University

Wednesday, February 26, 2020
3:00-4:00 p.m. EST

What could the future look like for that one child in a Head Start setting that may be Deaf/hard of hearing or who has additional challenges in their life?

Strategies to increase positive outcomes will include the impact of role models, the value of parent-to-parent support, increasing visual information, and 'in the moment' access to what is happening in the classroom and family. These simple everyday tips will benefit the Deaf/hard of hearing child and can positively impact the family and classroom. The information in this webinar will focus on children who are deaf and hard of hearing. However the strategies presented may benefit any child that is that “one child” in their family or Head Start program.

"The Future of the World is in My Classroom Today” -  Ivan Welton Fitzwater
