Attend this training if you want to deepen your understanding of the impact of domestic violence in the lives of children. You will learn how toxic stress, trauma, grief and loss affect the children and teens you are serving in shelters and outreach. As you practice scenarios to help children, you will learn about four important factors: emotional and internal physiological approaches, and behavioral reactions and feelings. This training will help develop your advocacy skills and equip you with trauma-informed approaches to support children in the midst of difficult experiences and many changes in their lives.

ODVN Trainer: Sonia Ferencik, LISW-S, RA Youth Advocacy & Trauma Informed Services Coordinator

Cost: $20 for ODVN members, $30 for non-members
