Mental Health First Aid is a six-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Our nationally certified trainers teach a five-step action plan that will help you assess a situation, implement appropriate interventions, and help the person connect with professional care. A three-year certification in MHFA is available upon completion of the two-hour online training and four-hour virtual training.

Learning Objectives:
  • Participants will become familiar with the signs and symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and mental illnesses with psychotic features.
  • Participants will learn how to respond to mental health crises such as panic attacks and suicide
  • Participants will learn how to intervene early during the development of a mental health problem to decrease the severity of the impact of the illness.
