Exmoor’s Atlantic woodlands are home to around 19 species of fern, some of which are very common and others extremely rare. During your walk at Tarr Steps you will learn about the parts of a fern, understand how to identify them using an Atlantic woodland fern ID guide (which you can take home with you) and become confident in identifying a handful of species.
This event is aimed at people with no previous experience of ferns and is run in association with Plantlife’s National Lottery Heritage funded Building Resilience in SW Woodlands project.
Booking is essential as places are limited. Bring a drink and snacks with you. Parking is available at the Tarr Steps car park and there is a charge so bring change. Toilets are available at the car park only.
No dogs allowed.
Cost £5 per person - which contributes to the CareMoor for Exmoor scheme, supporting heritage, nature and access projects on Exmoor. Discounts available for registered Exmoor National Park volunteers.
