This is a 1-credit academic (11 CE credit) course for students, staff, faculty and alumni of Antioch University Seattle. Students interested in taking this course for academic credit should register through MyAntioch.

Course Description
This 1-credit academic (11 CE credit) course is designed for students to complete the Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy Training. Through training manuals, video, class discussion, and participation, course participants will learn about integrating Gottman Method Couples Therapy into their clinical work. Clinical Training will give students insights into treatment for couples who struggle, using research-based assessments and effective interventions based on the Sound Relationship House Theory.
Completion of the course will allow participants to register and designate themselves as Trained Clinicians in Gottman Method Level 1.

Note: The training manuals for this course will be sent to AUS directly from the Gottman Institute and do not need to be ordered by participants. Your instructor may send instructions on when and where to pick up the training manual prior to the class meeting dates.
Course Requirements
All participants are expected to demonstrate the required level of attendance, scholarship, and competence in order to receive credit for the course. To achieve a basic level of competence for the course, participants must attend each class and participate actively in class activities. To confirm attendance for the Gottman Institute, each participant is REQUIRED to sign in to each morning and afternoon session of class meeting dates on the sign in sheet provided.
Attendance
Each participant is expected to be on time and attend for all classes. As per Gottman Institute requirements, failure to attend 100% of the class meeting time will result in no credit for the course. No make-up work may be completed for this course.

Intervention
Continuing Education Credits
Each participant who wishes to receive Continuing Education (CE) credits is responsible for sending their own printed exam (Level 1 Assessment of Knowledge) along with an administrative fee of $29.99 within 48 hours of completing the course to PESI Inc., PO Box 1000, Eau Claire, WI 54702.
Cancellation and Refunds
Requests for cancellations and requests to withdraw from the course received in writing 10 or more days before the course starts will be eligible for a full refund. Requests made less than 10 days before the course starts are not eligible for a refund or any portion.
