Turnbull Creek Trail Workday

We will put the finishing touches on a new section of trail connecting Jones Lake State Park and TCESF. This new section of trail is featured in the new day hike guide and includes a new bridge over the Jones Lake Drain and TCESF's Naval Stores forestry exhibit. We have worked with volunteers and our partners at TCESF all year to make this connecting trail a reality and are excited to see it completed and open for the public's enjoyment. 

We are planning to install the trail head kiosk, put up the final blazes, and do a final groom of the trail bed as we walk its length together. Carrie McCullen, the TCESF Forest Supervisor is also scheduled to join us and discuss TCESF's forestry operations and the role of trails in their mission.

Wear closed-toe shoes and bring gloves, water, and a packed lunch (we will break to eat about halfway through). We will be providing extra water and trail snacks as well. No prior trail experience is necessary and we will be providing tools. However, we would benefit from extra hand-saws, mattocks, or garden rakes. 

We will provide an update on the status and specifics of this event as we get closer to the date.
