The EDGE Volleyball Club Youth League

The EDGE is offering a summer youth league starting in May.  There will be two sessions, the 1st in May and the 2nd which starts in July.  This program is geared for players that will be in Grades 6th thru 8th for the 2020/2021 School season.  We will also accept 5th grades that demonstrate the physical ability to keep up with the older girls.

Players that will be entering High School for the 2020/2021 school year should attend their High School summer volleyball programs. That information can typically be found on your High Schools Athletics website.

 Here is what we offer:

  • Players will be evaluated in their first practice to determine team assignment.
  • Once teams are assigned all players will attend skills sessions to teach basic hitting/passing/setting skills and overall team offensive and defensive movements.  Instruction will be given by qualified Club and High School coaches.
  • All players will attend two practices per week and a skills session on the first three Saturdays of session 1 and 2.  Practices are Monday thru Thursday from 6pm to 8pm
  • Games will be played on the remaining 3 Saturdays of the session.
  • All players will be given a Jersey.
  • Advance players (club players) are encouraged to sign up as well, there is always something about your game that can be improved on.

Purpose of this League

As a High School coach I am often surprised by the amount of 9th graders that attend High School volleyball tryouts and have absolutely no understanding of the game the way it is played on a competitive level.

Many of these players have played several years in recreation programs but still have no basic skills or understanding of the actual game.

Many of these players have developed bad habits that can take years to correct.

In larger school programs these players quickly become those players that don’t not make a team.

It is our goal to make sure players understand the game and develop those skills necessary to be productive players for their High Schools.

Give us the opportunity to demonstrate why we are different.
