With Guest Speaker:   Jennifer Wasik, Assistant Director, Monitoring and Research Department, Industrial Waste Division

The A&WMA Lake Michigan States Section and the Union League Club Environmental Committee are pleased to invite you to join us to hear from Jennifer Wasik as she discusses the work of the Monitoring and Research Department, regulatory programs and the ordinances they administer and enforce.

Jennifer Wasik has worked for the MWRDGC since 2001 as an aquatic biologist, a principal environmental scientist, and currently as the Assistant Director of the Monitoring and Research Department in the Industrial Waste Division, managing the District’s Pretreatment and User Charge Programs. Until recently, when she joined the Industrial Waste Division, she oversaw waterway monitoring programs and water quality related projects in the Chicago area waterways. Jennifer’s recent focus areas have included nutrient implementation planning, evaluating road salt impacts and attainability of chloride water quality regulations, and working with local stakeholders to ensure the Chicago waterways can support many applicable uses.

Jennifer serves on the executive boards of the Illinois Association of Wastewater Agencies and the Lower Des Plaines Watershed Group. She has a BS in Biology from the University of Michigan and an MS in Environmental Management from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
