He provides guidance in helping nonprofits step up their results by increasing sponsorship funding, establishing partnerships, and implementing board development initiatives. His firm, Flax Associates (established in 2008), offers guidance to national and local nonprofit organizations.
Lewis understands the challenges nonprofits face, both from an outside consultant's point of view and from the internal perspective of a nonprofit executive. He previously served as a Vice President for IEG (a sponsorship consulting firm) and served on the leadership team at Financial Executives International (FEI).
Lewis has led numerous trainings and board retreats and presented on behalf of many organizations catering to the nonprofit community including Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), BoardSource, Candid (The Foundation Center), and the United Way. Lewis is a certified instructor for Dale Carnegie Training, a Master Trainer for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and a member of NSA (National Speakers Association).
