Social Work Ethics: Management of Secondary Trauma and Self-Care 

Social Work Ethics and Burnout

Course Objectives:

  • Through case study, the attendee will identify the consequences, costs and benefits of different directions in interventions with clients.
  • We will explore secondary trauma and the ethics of self-care.
  • We will develop concrete self-care plans to maintain optimal health and practice.

This training is designed for mental health professionals. This continuing education workshop provides 3 ethical hours. 

Parker Sternbergh Parker Sternbergh, MHA, LCSW-BACS

Parker Sternbergh, MHA, LCSW-BACS is the Director of the Porter Cason Institute and Center for Life Long Learning at the Tulane School of Social Work. She has been at Tulane since 2009. Ms. Sternbergh has worked in private clinical practice, agency and community macro settings.

CANCELLATION POLICY -- In the event you cannot come to our program, it is important for you to notify us 24 hours before the program begins, either by email (preferred) at jstpierre@tulane.edu or via phone at 504-247-1446.  We will refund the registration fee if notified 24 hours prior to the workshop.
