Candid Conversation -- "Rock the Room!" - A Celebration of Women's Suffrage and Beyond

It has been100 years since the 19th Amendment guaranteed women the right to vote.  Since then we have been changing the conversation (for the better!).  This hard-fought battle brought 51% of the population into a decision-making status, something which is finally starting to blossom.  Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Attorney General Letitia James are living examples of women rocking the room in Government.

A panel of eminent women activists and scholars will present the history of the suffrage movement, the changing impact of women in policy-making positions, and the celebration of diversity in our ranks.  The panel will feature Susan Zimet, hunger policy guru for the State of New York and women's suffrage historian; Dina Refki, Executive Director of Women in Government and Civil Society; Ang Morris, Schenectady Commissioner of Human Rights; and Christina Romeo, Co-Chair of GLSEN of Upstate NY Capital Region and Public Affairs Fellow at Gramercy.

We hope you can join us for this special presentation!
