Angela Yochem, EVP, Chief Digital & Technology Officer, Novant

Angela Yochem is EVP & Chief Digital Officer for Novant Health, a super-regional healthcare system with one of the largest medical groups in the US. She and her teams deliver the world-class consumer capabilities, differentiating technologies, and advanced clinical solutions that allow the high-growth system to provide remarkable patient care.

Yochem has served as EVP/CIO at Rent-A-Center, Global CIO at BDP International, Global CTO at AstraZeneca, and divisional CIO at Dell. She’s held tech exec roles at Bank of America and SunTrust, and held senior technology roles at UPS and IBM. In these roles, she built B2B digital product lines, grew digital retail channels (B2C), created technical services lines of business, and transformed global technology capabilities.

 Yochem has been a director for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, BDP Transport, BDP Global Services Asia and Europe, and Rocana, with experience on Audit, Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, and Governance/Policy committees. She remains an EIR for Vonzos Partners, a Mentor for SKTA Innopartners, and an Advisor for Dioko Ventures. She serves on the board of Freedom School Partners, a non-profit committed to promoting literacy in the Charlotte area, and on the executive team of the Go Red for Women organization, part of the American Heart Association. She is a Trustee of the Charlotte Regional Business Initiative, and is an advisory board member for the American Hospital Association Innovation Council and the University of Tennessee Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department.

Yochem has a Bachelor of Music from DePauw University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee, holds three US Patents and is an author with Addison-Wesley and Prentice-Hall.

Holly Jimison, PhD, FACMI, Director of the Consortium on Technology for Proactive Care; Professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences / Bouvé College of Health Sciences, Northeastern University

Holly Jimison is a professor in both the Khoury College of Computer Sciences and Bouvé College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University. Prior to joining Northeastern, she was on leave from Oregon Health & Science University to serve as a technology advisor for the Big Data Initiative for Monitoring Health Behaviors at Home and in the Environment at the National Institutes of Health.

Jimison's earlier work as medical informatics faculty at OHSU focused on technology for successful aging and scalable remote care. She served on the Executive Board of the Oregon Center for Aging & Technology and was past president of Oregon’s Health Information Management Systems Society chapter. As a fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics, Jimison has made significant and sustained contributions to the field of biomedical informatics in the areas of pattern recognition, decision support, and consumer health informatics. She continues to deepen her influence in the field through her research on technology for successful aging and scalable remote care for older adults, including models for tailoring interventions in cognitive exercise, physical exercise, socialization, and sleep management using new behavioral metrics derived from this type of data. As the director of the Consortium on Technology for Proactive Care at Northeastern University, she leads a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional effort to facilitate research in the area of home monitoring of health behaviors, including helping researchers address the challenges of big data related to large amounts of complex and noisy streaming data from multiple sources used to infer clinically relevant health behaviors. Jimison has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Illinois, and a PhD in medical information sciences from Stanford University.

Richards is a recognized community leader serving multiple terms on the Charlotte Chamber’s Executive Committee and currently is on the boards of Apparo, Smart Start of Mecklenburg County, Patriots Path and Progressive AE. Past board involvement includes MeckEd, Charlotte Regional Partnership, Women United, and Women Executives.

Richards has been honored as a Most Admired CEO, Smart CEO’s Brava Award, twice as one of Charlotte’s 50 Most Influential Women and in 2014 was named Woman of the Year. The Charlotte Business Journal has recognized her as a 40 Under Forty leader and a Top 25 Women in Business. A frequent presenter and speaker, she has guest hosted Carolina Business Review and appeared in BizWomen’s national webcast.

Richards holds a bachelor’s in Speech Communication, a master’s in Student Affairs in Higher Education, and Ph.D. in Leadership for Higher Education.
