Covid stole two years of Birthday parties and now we say" No More"
We want to celebrate our Mustangs more than just every five or ten years. We think our ponies need a party every year! Whether your idea of a perfect weekend is taking your car along great driving roads, cleaning her up and showing her off for admiring fans, chatting it up with lots of other Mustang groupies or sharing a meal with friends both old and new, then this is THE place to be on the anniversary of our beloved Mustang's birth.
The Commemorative Air Force is an extraordinary place and we are privileged to be allowed to host our show at their hangar. The Ford Mustang and the historic airplanes on display there have been a part of the American story for so many years that we couldn't think of a better place to get together and celebrate.
We will kick off the event April 15th, with a cruise from San Marcos to iconic Luckenbach where we will stop for lunch. We'll probably see bunches of wildflowers which will make for great photo opportunities. Friday evening we cruise as a group for an old school movie night at the Stars and Stripes Drive-In to honor the lifestyle of our older ponies. Saturday is the time to shine at the car show*. It will be amazing to see how many years we can see out there! This will be a great day to mingle and compare and maybe even decide which model Mustang is next on the wish list. We are going to have lots of classes so there will definitely be a place for you.
Awards will be presented in the evening before the BBQ banquet, which is being cartered by one of the oldest Barbecue joints in Texas. Black's has been around since 1932 .It is the perfect combination of great cars, great food and great people spanning the 20th century.
Sunday we'll sleep in a little and then take a short cruise to Wimberley. Wimberley is a great little town with local art galleries, unique shopping, glass blowing demonstrations, outdoor areas, wineries and more. They also have a place that we have not yet tried: The Shady Llama. It is a beer and wine garden with a couple of food trucks on site. But wait - There are actual llamas and donkeys there. It is not a huge place so this will not be an official destination, but we, the event organizers are going and we look forward to seeing at least of few of you there. We'll raise a glass and toast to the next 57 years .
