Webinar: Oral Health for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

The Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) invite DDA provider nurses and dental health professionals to understand the importance of good oral health for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). Attendees can participate in-person at the Eastern Shore AHEC or online. UPDATE: This training will be held by webinar only.

Learning objectives: 
  • Understand that people with I/DD are at a higher risk for oral health issues 
  • Understand the correlation between oral and systemic health
  • Ways to help prevent oral disease
  • Recognize signs of oral abuse
  • Ways to help people access dental care and establish a dental home
