Pinewoods Camp  •  Plymouth, MA

Welcome to the registration page for the second Hungarian Dance Weekend at Pinewoods Camp in Plymouth, Massachusetts!

The weekend will feature Dénes Takácsy, a highly-acclaimed and much-loved teacher of traditional Hungarian/Transylvanian dances.  Dénes, with his dance partner Eszter Balázs, will focus on teaching the lesser-known figures for the invirtita from the from the Kalotaszegi cycle from the village of Szucság in Transylvania.  Zsombor Cseszák, from Hungary's famed Fokos Band will teach a series of music classes in the art of playing Hungarian music and playing for Hungarian dancing.  Evening Táncház parties will feature music by Zsombor, Bálint, and Brano for your dancing and listening pleasure!

But there's more!  June is a beautiful time to be at Pinewoods - a little slice of heaven just one hour south of Boston nestled between two pristine, tree-shaded ponds. Add to the natural beauty the open air dance pavilions and dining hall, and the cabins in the woods, you have the makings of a wonderful getaway weekend.

You can find more information about the session, as well as Pinewoods Camp itself, on the Folk Arts Center's Hungarian Dance Weekend webpage. But it is here where you register for the weekend!

Please note: while this program is designed for adults, a limited number of campers under the age of 18 can be accepted. Non-dancing companions are welcome to attend; while they will not take classes, they will be able to relax surrounded by the beauty that is Pinewoods, enjoy the great camp cooking, and participate in all the evening festivities!

To register, click on the "Apply Now!" button at the bottom. It is best (but not required) if each member of your party registers individually under different emails. However, if your family members do not have separate emails, register one as the main person, and the others as "Additional Campers".
