PIP & Luncheon - March 19, 2020

Dear NCPGC Members & Supporters:

To meet the challenges of doing business in San Francisco, NCPGC has partnered with local charities to continue to provide high quality, accessible educational programs. Our first partner this year is Google Community Space, where the March meeting will take place. (Driving directions are on the left side panel.) Our meeting will be held in the Main Event Space which is to your left when you enter the building but first, you will need to sign in at the front desk and obtain a visitor sticker. Please note that for the PIP, we will have the usual coffee and tea available and for the Luncheon, we will serve sandwich boxed lunches from Specialty's.
We are excited about this new location opportunity and we are sure that you will enjoy the experience as well.

Thank you for supporting NCPGC!
Warmest regards,
NCPGC Board of Directors

Planned Gifts and Major Gifts:  Friends or Foes?

Program Description:
Planned Gifts and Major Gifts are both important to an organization’s fundraising goals. Major gifts support important on-going needs, while planned gifts often support the institution’s future. This program will discuss how and when to focus on and/or blend these gifts so that donors can achieve the greatest impact on the charities that they love.

Effectively Managing Donor Expectations with Real Estate Gifts

Program Description:
Giving real estate has many advantages for donors and can provide valuable gifts for charities.  When funding a life income arrangement, gifts of real estate are often larger on average than gifts of other assets.  However, with these benefits come added complexity, particularly when real estate is used to fund a charitable remainder trust.  Many of these issues can be identified in advance and managed effectively with the donor and their advisors.

The goal of the session is to enable gift planners to more effectively manage donor expectations regarding their gifts of real estate and reduce the likelihood that a donor may be unpleasantly surprised or disappointed at some point in their gift experience.
