Student Learning That Sticks

a two-day professional learning session for teachers, coaches, principals, and PD leaders

June 22-23, 2020

Monday-Tuesday

Denver, Colorado

Student Learning That Sticks is a new way to approach an old problem: How can we help our students better learn, recall, and master the content they need to know?

Join McREL for two days of professional learning on a new 6-phase model for student learning that's aligned to what neuroscientists know about how the brain processes new information, creates memories, and applies existing knowledge to new thinking:

  • Learn about three types of memory--immediate, working, and long-term--and which teaching strategies and activities match best with each type.
  • Discover ways to sequence and present lessons in a way that best aligns with what's happening inside your students' brains as they learn.
  • Get practical strategies for helping students become interested in--and commit to--learning, make sense of it all, and apply it to new contexts.
  • Create a plan of next steps as you consider how to implement a learning model in your school or classroom setting.

Registration: $399 per person. Includes 2-day workshop and all materials, plus daily lunches and refreshments.
