Welcome to the USDA FOG (Fats, Oils and Grease) Training Registration Page

PPRC and the Western States Alliance is providing technical training in FOG abatement. The training will focus on two areas:

Morning Session (8am-12pm):

Building a Case for a FOG Program

This presentation gives municipal staff an overview of building a business case for developing and implementing an effective Fats, Oils & Grease (FOG) Abatement Program.  We will discuss the data needs, how to gather the data, data management and presentation.  We will discuss the existing cost to the municipality of FOG discharges to the collection and treatment systems, and which costs will decrease upon implementation of a FOG program.  Examples will be presented for municipal costs to implement a FOG program, and give examples of the cost-benefit calculation process, and how to present the information to municipal decision makers.

Afternoon Session (1pm-5pm):

Implementing an Effective FOG Program

This presentation gives an overview of the elements needed in a program once you have the morning session pieces in place.  We will discuss FSE identification and outreach, FOG loading estimating, types of pretreatment devices, comprehensive inspections, enforcement and incentives and much more.

Participants will receive 0.8 Wastewater CEUs and a certificate of completion for attending both sessions. Attendees can recieve .4 for attending first or second half of the training. You are responsible for insuring that you sign in/out in order to recieve your CEUs.

Lunch is on your own. Make sure to bring one if you do not want to buy one.

PPRC has received grant funding from the USDA Rural Utilities Service (RUS) to provide technical training and assistance to small, rural communities in FOG abatement.

PPRC is an equal opportunity provider and employer
