AAEA 2021 Fall Conference

The theme is "Illuminate, Ignite, Excite!" with the purpose to re-engage and re-ignite our passion as art educators. To expand upon why we teach art and why the arts matter, we are excited to announce that the Instagram famous, Netflix 'star,' Expert Blogger, Art Educator Extraordinaire, Cassie Stephens, will be our guest speaker and presenter.

Workshops will be held in the Fine Arts Building at Spring Hill College. The room block and the Friday night awards dinner will be at The Admiral Hotel in Downtown Mobile. Registration fee includes breakfast and lunch Friday and Saturday at Spring Hill College and the Friday night awards dinner The Admiral Hotel. Attendees will also receive a *T-shirt and tote bag featuring the new AAEA logo and the conference logo. *T-shirt only if registered by October 1st. 

Cassie Stephens will present two different workshops: Needle Felting and Weaving. For an additional fee, attendees may choose to attend one of her workshops. The Cassie Workshops are on a first-come, first-serve basis and will sell out quickly. As part of the regular registration fee, attendees will attend multiple hands-on art workshops, and there will be two daytime keynote speakers, Ardith Goodwin and Nancy Raia. Cassie will be the keynote speaker during the Friday night awards dinner at The Admiral Hotel. After dinner, attendees will be encouraged to attend the popular LODA ArtWalk just outside the hotel door in Downtown Mobile. The Admiral Hotel has a room block and is offering discounted rates for conference attendees for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night: Alabama Art Education Association

MASK MANDATE UPDATE. On Spring Hill College Campus: Masks required indoors, all campus spaces. This applies to classrooms, meetings and to visitors and vendors, whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated. Masks are not required outdoors but please use discretion when there are large groups of people, vaccinated and unvaccinated.
