2020 Professional Development and Annual General Meeting

The Professional Development day and Annual General Meeting scheduled for April 8th, 2020 is cancelled.

In the coming days, Provincial Council will consider available alternatives to meet AGM requirements and inform members accordingly.

We are reviewing other scheduled meetings and will inform affected participants.



The 2020 Professional Development and Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be on April 08, 2020 (Wednesday) at the William Glesby Centre, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Registration will open at 8:30 a.m. A light breakfast will be available.


9:25 a.m.:  Welcome - Casey Fox, P.Ag., Council Chair

Theme: "Consumer Influence and Public Trust: Impact on the Practice of Agrology".  Speakers and panelists will share perspectives on meeting consumer food demands and protecting public interests.

9:30 a.m. Session 1: Trish Jordan, Government and Industry Affaris Director, Bayer Canada, Crop Science Division

Everyone needs to eat, and people want to eat better than they did before. Trish will help explore our theme from the perspective of a company with global and multi-sector consumer reach including in the agriculture sector and how companies such as Bayer are helping to improve productivity and profitability and how that impacts consumers. 10:15 a.m. Session 2: James Fehr, P.Ag., Vice-President of Commercial Financial Services for Manitoba East and North, RBC

If precision farming and genomics play out as many hope they will, other changes will be needed to satisfy consumer demands. Based on RBC's research, James will discuss why people need "Farmer 4.0" to succeed. James has been actively involved in the financial services sector specializing in agriculture for over 20 years.
