WILLOW STREET BRIDGE REPLACEMENT (DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION)

The Willow Street Bridge Replacement project replaced the existing Willow Street Bridge, a 2-lane wide, 27 span slab bridge built in 1940, classified as Functionally Obsolete with a new 620 ft long, 5 span, 4-lane, post-tensioned concrete box girder bridge that includes 2-8 foot bike lanes (Class II)/shoulders, sidewalks on each side of the bridge, and a 4 foot median.  The project improved the river flow characteristics under the bridge as well as safety for the travelling public.  The project also included a 650 ft long precast concrete double box culvert, improved roadway widths, biofiltration storm drain systems, and improved equestrian and multi-purpose trails.  The presenters will discuss the bridge design and the project construction process.
