Introduction to Handgun Safety and Marksmanship

5 hour course
Maximum number of students: 10
Cost: $99.99 per person

The Introduction to Handgun Safety and Marksmanship is a training course designed for the individual with very limited or no experience shooting handguns who is interested in learning how to safely and accurately use a handgun for recreational target shooting and/or personal safety protection. Time will be spent in the classroom and on Adventure Outdoor's state-of-the-art firing range for practical exercise. This course will also prepare the shooter who is interested in using a handgun for defense to take more advanced training. The focus of this course is range and home safety, developing an understanding of the fundamentals of marksmanship, and learning how to use dry fire practice to increase shooting ability. Students will have the opportunity to fire up to 50 rounds of ammunition with an instructor’s assistance. Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Instructional topics include:

• The basic rules of firearms safety

• Adventure Outdoors range safety rules and video

• Key fundamentals of handgun marksmanship

• Overview of state laws and issues for personal protection

Course cost includes one handgun rental, targets, eye protection, and ear protection. If you have your own handgun, you are encouraged to bring it for the class (no big bore calibers, ie, .44 mag, .50 AE, .410, etc.), you will need to bring 50 rounds of ammo, or you can buy the ammo from us. (Note: No steel cased/steel core ammo is allowed on the range.) Those using our rental guns will need to buy ammo from us. You may bring your own hearing and eye protection if you wish. Please do not wear sandals, high heels, open toed shoes, low neckline tops, or excessively loose clothing or jewelry. A cap with a bill is recommended for wear on the range.

All students must be 21 years of age or older. All students must bring a valid government issued picture ID with them.

Cancellation Policy: Registered students who wish to either cancel for a refund or reschedule for another class, must do so at least 48 hours prior to the class. Cancellations and date change requests made later, or no shows, may not be honored.

We MAY cancel the class, if a minimum number of 4 registrations is not met. All registered students will receive email notification and full refunds, if we must cancel.
