Negotiation in Times of Change with Dave Black

 

Please join us on Friday, April 10th for our next webinar, Negotiation in Times of Change" with Dave Black.

 

This session will focus on the practice of collaborative negotiation during times of change building on the strategies of positive behavior support in supported employment. We will discuss the process of managing transition in the midst of challenging situations through empowerment, communication, and relationships.

Dave Black, Wise Associate

Dave Black is the founder and general manager of Interchange Northwest, LLC.  Interchange Northwest provides training and technical assistance in conflict management to governmental organizations, service providers, and individuals and families.  Mr. Black has practiced and taught conflict resolution with organizations in the U.S and abroad.

 He is the Behavioral Health Ombuds for King County in Washington State and the former Mental Health Ombuds for the Timberlands Regional Support Network, which represents Pacific, Wahkiakum, and Lewis counties in Washington. He provided negotiation training to people with disabilities, their families, and government and private service providers through O’Neill and Associates sponsored by King County Developmental Disabilities Division. He teaches conflict resolution as part of the professional certificate program in supported employment through Highline Community College in Des Moines, Washington.

He is a certified mediator in Washington State and the Russian Republic.  He has provided training with the Russian-American Program in Conflictology (RAP-C) in St. Petersburg, Russia. He was the keynote speaker at the International Conference on Conflict Resolution in Kaluga, Russia in 1998. He has worked with the Helsinki Human Rights Foundation in Poland and the Arias Foundation in Costa Rica, founded by Nobel Laureate and two time President Oscar Arias. He provided training in collaborative negotiation to the Instituto Superior de Relaciones Internacionales “Raúl Roa García” (Institute of International Relations) in Havana, Cuba. He has conducted seminars for SILAKA, a private non-profit organization in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, that promotes political participation for women in rural areas and for the clinical and financial staff of the Franco-American Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
