From the Advisors’ Perspective:
Working with financial and legal professionals to unleash philanthropy

Description
Join us for a panel discussion, moderated by Kevin Smith-Fagan, exploring philanthropy from the advisor's viewpoint. As gatekeepers for the larger, more complicated forms of giving, advisors can be a critical part of the charitable transaction. However, nonprofit professionals are rarely at the table when these conversations take place. What is the appropriate role for the nonprofit in these conversations? How can we ensure that our part of the transaction is meaningful for the donor and seamless for the advisor? These and other questions will be explored in an engaging panel discussion designed to help you advance your relationships with advisors and make your nonprofit more attractive for planned gifts.

Panelists
Michael Hardy, Senior VP and Wealth Advisor, UBS
Terra Van Zant, CPA
Kate Willcox, Associate, Boutin Jones Inc.

Moderator
Kevin Smith-Fagan serves as executive director of the children’s educational park Fairytale Town in Sacramento. In his prior development work at PBS KVIE, he stewarded over 200 planned gifts, and his nonprofit career includes fundraising for hunger relief and inner-city education. Kevin is president-elect of the Rotary Club of Sacramento, and is a past president of the Planned Giving Forum of Greater Sacramento.
