Evaluating Your Digital Preservation - Webinar (05/14/20)

Digital preservation is a program any organization can accomplish - it just takes a plan!

An assessment can help you understand where you are, identify where you want to be, and identify realistic steps for getting there.

This session will: cover the digital preservation assessment process, offer real-life examples of ways institutions have used an assessment to find their path forward, and provide further resources and tools for performing an assessment.

This webinar is for library staff with roles in collections care, exhibiting, or technical services. Any staff with an interest in improving collections care are welcome.

Virtual Trainer: Frances Harrell

Frances is the Lead Consultant for Myriad, a consulting group serving libraries, archives, museums, and private collectors. She has over ten years of experience working with cultural heritage organizations, focusing on preservation. She has spent that time helping libraries, archives, and museums achieve their preservation goals through consulting and training in paper, photograph, audiovisual, and digital collections. She is the Co-Chair of ALA's Preservation Outreach Committee, and has served as the co-chair of ALA's Digital Preservation Interest Group and Chair of SAA's Preservation Section. She received her MLIS from Simmons College and her BA in English Literature from the University of Florida.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
