As the world immerses into the surreal life of the COVID-19 pandemic, how does it impact the look and feel of the Town of Cumberland? In order to capture this moment in history, Cumberland Arts Inc. (CA) is sponsoring a unique art competition that blends several artistic styles with the challenges of social distancing.
Theme - Artists are invited to find an "indoor or outdoor" scene of inspiration in Cumberland that typifies to them the way in which the pandemic is playing out on the economic, physician and mental well-being of the Cumberland community. The scene of inspiration must be within the Town of Cumberland limits. Scroll down to see a map of Town limits.
Type of Media - Cumberland Arts is seeking two and three-dimensional artworks in all media with the exception of photography, jewelry, or digital art. No photography, jewelry or digital art allowed in this competition.
Inspiration - Artwork must convey the theme based on insights inspired by Cumberland's community, town and atmosphere during the 2020 pandemic.
Registration - Deadline to submit registration is May 5, 2020. The registration fee is $25.00 + $1.50 handling fee (total $26.50.) Each artist can submit up to two entries under the one registration fee.
Challenge - Artists should unveil the pure expression of their talent in showcasing the impact of COVID-19.
