Cybersecurity 101: Tools to Educate and Protect Users and Ourselves

As library staff and users move to a new reality where remote working and online gatherings where are the new normal, cybersecurity will play a more substantial role than ever in our everyday world. Malware, ransomware, and hackers are the biggest threats to identity and financial theft today.

During this interactive webinar, we will create a toolbox of resources and identify best practices to help educate and keep ourselves and our users protected while online. 

Virtual Trainer: Diana Silveira

Diana Silveira is the President of Novare Library Services, a company that focuses on web, mobile and infrastructure services for libraries. Previous to starting Novare Library Services, she was the Virtual Reference Manager for Florida’s Ask a Librarian Service and coordinator for Florida’s Statewide Delivery System.

She presents regularly on implementing technology, best practices and privacy issues online. She also works with libraries to deploy new technologies as well as develop new mobile and desktop websites.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
