The Fundamental Series:

PBS 101: Supporting Adulthood in Service: lifelong learning and supporting sexuality with Shaun Wood

Please join us on Thursday, May 28th for our webinar, “PBS 101: Supporting Adulthood in Service: lifelong learning and supporting sexuality" with Shaun Wood.

We believe there is a place for everyone in the community. Everyone in service deserves positive and empowering services that help them reach their goals. What happens when behavior gets in the way? This web-based training series will provide the basics of positive behavior supports as they can be applied to a variety of adult disability services. Students can take the series all together, or they can pick and choose individual webinar sessions.

Learning Objectives (Info, tools, and skills attendees will receive):

  • Learners will understand the historical and current day considerations of delivering positive behavior supports
  • Learners will understand the difference between the medical and social models of disability
  • Learners will be able to apply ethical frameworks to their own work

In order to ensure we at Wise have accurate attendance records, we require each participant to register for each separate event they attend in this series. You must register for each event separately.  You can find links to registration for each event in our Wise Calendar at gowise.org/calendar.  The only way we can show proof of your attendance at an event is if you register for that specific event, and then sign into the Zoom platform using the same name that you registered under.  Please send a message to Rob Van Oss in the Chat Box if you have questions or need support with this piece. You can also call him at (206) 501-9977.

*Please note: Wise maintains registration and attendance records for our events and training programs. Attendees that fully participate in events and/or complete training programs will receive a certificate to document  full participation as back up for billing purposes.  Wise is required to monitor participation in our courses and provide reports to our funding sources so that they may utilize these records in the course of their audits of programs. These reports may include actual time spent by attendee name, event/training title, county and state. Reports are provided to ensure there is documented proof of the appropriate use of government funds for the purposes of professional development.

There are no refunds for those that do not attend the scheduled webinar. If you do miss the webinar, we will provide you with a code to access the next webinar free.
