Developing Business Consultants in the Community: Session 1 - Identifying Business Language and Industry Standards with Monica Zumach & Debbie Moore
If you are a new Employment Consultant or need a refresher on introducing and connecting to your community business leaders come join us. In this session we will cover how to make professional introductions, researching and networking within your business community, knowing the difference between marketing and job development, and building employer relation

- Strategies for representing yourself as a consultant and representing job candidates

*Please note: Wise maintains registration and attendance records for our events and training programs. Attendees that fully participate in events and/or complete training programs will receive a certificate to document full participation as back up for billing purposes. Wise is required to monitor participation in our courses and provide reports to our funding sources so that they may utilize these records in the course of their audits of programs. These reports may include actual time spent by attendee name, event/training title, county and state. Reports are provided to ensure there is documented proof of the appropriate use of government funds for the purposes of professional development.

Monica is the Director of TA and Training at WISE. She has over 25 years of experience providing and implementing employment opportunities in the community. She is an experienced consultant on Supported Employment principles, primarily to employment agencies, educators, government, and businesses, both nationally and internationally. Her areas of expertise are Marketing & Job Development, Job Coaching, Event Organization and Project Management for non-profit professionals . In addition, Monica was an instructor at Highline Community College for the Employment Certification Program – “Essential Functions of Marketing and Job Development” from 2007 to 2016. She has also served as the A.D.A. & Technical Asst. Manager for Washington State, consulting on the Americans with Disabilities Act and Washington State Anti-Discrimination Law. Previously, Monica served as a Job Coach, Job Developer, and Career Counselor for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Washington State. She brings a wide array of consulting abilities to any organization regarding Supported Employment, A.D.A., Event Planning or Project Management. Monica and her family live in Pierce County, WA where she is a mother of four, wife, runner, golfer and enjoys travel and the outdoors.
Debbie Moore joined Wise in 2010 as the Rotary Partners for Work Coordinator, bringing over 25 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. Most recently she worked for 13 years as a Career Specialist within the Issaquah School District Transition Program, where she implemented and managed students’ career development activities. Prior to that, her introduction into the field was 9 years working as the Employment Manager within an agency that supported the first employees’ transition out of the workshop into competitive employment. Debbie’s strengths include creative job development, facilitating and maintaining partnerships within Rotarian businesses, supporting employment activities with school districts in King County, collaborating with various agencies, and facing daily challenges head on. In addition to managing the Partners for Work project, Debbie also provides trainings to Transition Program staff, assists with Conferences throughout the state, and is part of the Person Center Planning team. Working at Wise affords her the luxury of making impactful community connections and creative employment opportunities.
Debbie lives in Issaquah and was raised in Bellevue. She has one son and a new daughter-in-law. She is a proud WSU Graduate with a Business degree. She enjoys free time spent with family and friends, going to movies, hikes, coffee and laughter. Every opportunity to travel is welcomed with open arms.
