Quality Asphalt Paving Webinar  - May 27, 2020

QUALITY ASPHALT PAVING  -- BEST PRACTICES IN THE FIELD

By popular demand, CalAPA is pleased to offer an intensive, 2.5 hours webinar class on "Quality Asphalt Paving." New pavement specifications, technology and owner expectations  are changing faster than you can say "goodbye incentives, hello deductions." In this fast-paced class, longtime paving company owner turned asphalt pavement consultant Skip Brown  will provide a practical, "boots on the ground" course for what makes for a high-quality paving operation, best practices as well as how to identify and avoid problems.  What you don't know can cost you!

Brown (pictured) is a noted expert in the asphalt pavement industry and second-generation paving company owner Skip Brown who now serves as a consultant to the public and private sector on paving strategies, maintenance and other expertise. Over his long career he has personally supervised the placement of more than 4 million tons of asphalt on California streets, highways and parking lots.

The class will cover the basics of asphalt pavement design, binders & aggregates, current specifications, hauling operations, paving & rolling, compaction & finishing, thin-lifts, fabric, slurry seal and safety best practices.

NOTE: This class will be delivered in remote "LIVE STREAM WEBINAR" format only. There will be no in-person class location.  Participants will be able to ask questions and have them answered during the webinar. A link to participate in the class remotely via computer will be sent separately to all registrants. All attendees will also receive via e-mail an electronic certificate of completion documenting that they have completed two (2) Professional Development Hours (PDH) of technical instruction. All participants will also receive an electronic copy ofa handy refence book, which includes copies of all slides, a list of acronyms, glossary of terms, safety checklists and more.

Who should attend? This class is ideal for asphalt pavement contractors, public works paving crews, supervisors, inspectors and others who care about delivering a quality paving job.
