Zooming into Mindfulness:

Telehealth with Children

This workshop offers 2 CECs that count as LIVE trainings.

This workshop will focus on presenting mindfulness interventions with elementary school children and their parents using telehealth for individual, family and group modalities during a health care pandemic.  There will be opportunity for participants to experience the interventions before using them on a vulnerable child population.  Issues of the pandemic affect clinicians ourselves while we simultaneously work to support our child and parent clients who are struggling with being overwhelmed, anxious, fearful with possible panic, then later trauma, grief, loss, anger and depression. Effective techniques will be shared.  Learn how children can improve their brain, emotional and physical health by activating their parasympathetic nervous system through the vagus nerve which listens to our breathing and responds. This is a skills building, practice based workshop from lessons learned out of necessity during this time.

Join Rose-Ann Wanczyk-Karp, LCSW, BCD, DCSW, ACSW for this virtual, interactive workshop.  Currently a Community Health Center’s Senior Clinician in a School Based Health Clinic, she works with kindergarten through 5th grade children and their parents and has been practicing mindfulness for 15 years.
