2020 Community Summit Webinar Series

Developmental Disabilities Community Town Hall - Staying Connected

Sponsored by Spokane County

It was a difficult decision to cancel the Community Summit conference that was planned to be held in Wenatchee, Washington in June 2020. In the meantime, the on-going COVID-19 public health crisis has affected every citizen - in our homes, our workplaces, and our communities. Social distancing and the loss of familiar routines has many of us feeling alone and missing our friends, families, and co-workers. But we are still a community!
* The Community Summit Webinar Series is free to attend!

Staying in touch with the people we care about can be tough but it is possible. Join us for this new town hall focused on creating virtual connections. We will chat about the challenges to stay engaged with others. Together we will explore solutions or new opportunities to help adapt to our “new normal”.

In this webinar series, participants will join in discussions of how we care for ourselves and others, maintain a sense of purpose, and continue to find connection to our community in a time of social distancing

 Town Hall participants will:

  • Connect virtually with other members of the developmental disability’s community using the Zoom platform.
  • Identify barriers to connecting with others during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Share solutions and ways they have adapted to connect with others.
  • Identify new goals and desires for connecting with others during the pandemic and beyond.
