In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee counties have been answering the call for help from so many in need.

Now, more than ever, they need our help and support to continue to aid in the physical and financial recovery for our community.

Leading Edge Benefit Advisors has partnered with United Way to host our first ever Virtual 5K to raise urgently needed funds to aid in local COVID-19 relief efforts. All event proceeds will go directly to support United Way.

Event Details

The Virtual 5K will kick-off on Saturday June 20th and will continue through Monday June 29th. Participants can run or walk in support of the United Way.

Registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children under the age of 18 and includes a complimentary event t-shirt!

Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place for male and female groups in the following categories:

  • Under 18
  • 18-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60-69
  • 70+
  • Best Average Time

Group Participation

Get your friends, family and co-workers off the couch and outside for this worthy cause! Special awards will be given to groups who participate in the following categories:

  • Largest Group
  • Top Fundraiser
  • Best Overall Time - 1st, 2nd and 3rd

If participating as a group, please indicate your group name during the registration process.

5K Time Submission Requirements

The Virtual 5K in support of United Way is a fun way to get outside for a worthy cause! Participants can run or walk and are not required to submit their times.

If you would like to compete within your age bracket, you will need to submit your time via the below link no later than 11:59pm on Monday June 29th.

Be sure to use a tracking app when completing your 5K! All category leaders will be required to submit a screen shot of your tracker to validate your time via email to info@le-advisors.com

There are many free trackers available through your smart phone. Some popular options include: RunKeeper, UnderArmor, MapMyRun, Garmin, etc...

Winners for each age bracket will be announced via email on July 1st and will be contacted individually to collect their medal in person or via mail.
