Fox Valley Spring Meeting

 

The Fox Valley Association Council requests your presence at our Spring Association Meeting, which has been moved, per the Association Council, to Saturday, June 13th.  The meeting room will open at 9:45 am, and the Moderator will call the meeting to order at 10:00. 

Due to the Coronavirus/Covid-19 Pandemic, it is necessary for us to conduct this meeting online instead of in person at the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva.  We will be meeting on Zoom.  The Zoom platform allows for both audio and audio/video participation. Attendees can enter from their computer or smartphone to participate visually, or from any phone with audio access only.

QUORUM: THIS MEETING IS AN OFFICIAL ASSOCIATION MEETING!  We are required to have a quorum in order to conduct the business that is necessary.  As such, we must, per our Covenantal Design for Ministry, have a minimum of 50 delegates from ONE THIRD (1/3) of the churches in the Association.  Per the Design for Ministry:

Voting membership of any meeting of the Association will consist of the members of the Association Council, all ordained, licensed and commissioned ministers holding standing in the Fox Valley Association, all volunteer staff as appointed by the Association Council, and two (2) adult delegates and one (1) youth delegate from each church.

 DELEGATES and PASTORS:  PASTORS, WE CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE A LIST OF DELEGATES.  Please forward this notice to your delegates and ask them to register via the online registration provided. 

NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT:  The Nominating Committee (chaired by Rev. Katherine Erwin) has been hard at work to develop a slate.  They still have some positions open for both Association and Conference positions.  If you are willing to share your gifts in an area about which you are passionate/hold interest, please contact Rev. Katherine Erwin.

On the day of the meeting, you will be asked to accept the slate as presented.  We will not receive nominations from the floor (or screen, as it is).  Anyone then interested in filling a position that is still open will be invited to contact the Nominating Committee, Moderator, or Associate Conference Minister after the meeting.  The Nominating Committee Report will be posted prior to the meeting and sent out to registered parties.  It will also be shown the night of the meeting
