Course Approvals: RCFE# 433-0404-34387 ARF# 433-0404-34386
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a type of movement disorder. It happens when nerve cells in the brain do not produce enough of a brain chemical called dopamine. Sometimes it is genetic, but most cases do not seem to run in families. Exposure to chemicals in the environment might play a role. Care providers caring for someone with PD can run into some challenges, especially as the disease progresses. This course will assist care providers in navigating care via an in-depth understanding of the disease.
