The Maine Association of Psychiatric Physicians invites you to join us Thursday, October 8, 2020 started at 6:30 p.m. and all day on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.    This is your opportunity to network with psychiatrists, family physicians, APNs, therapists and other health professionals throughout the State of Maine. 

 Distinguished Presenters

Aline Zoldbrod, Ph.D.

Aline Zoldbrod, Ph.D. is an American psychologist and author who is an expert in sexuality, and a lecturer and workshop leader. She is the author of three well-regarded, commercially published books about sexuality and relationships. Her book, SexSmart: How Your Childhood Shaped Your Sexual  Life and What to Do About It has been translated into Spanish, Turkish and Polish and won Foreword Magazine's award for being one of the top three self-help books published that year (1998) She also authored  Men, Women and Infertility: Intervention and Treatment Strategies (1993) and co-authored Sex Talk: Uncensored Exercises for Exploring What Really Turns You On. She has published articles in peer reviewed journals and has contributed chapters on sexuality to medical textbooks. Creator of the interpersonal theory of sexual development, The Milestones of Sexual Development, Dr. Zoldbrod elucidates the many sexual and non-sexual developmental events which determine whether a person will be able to experience deep emotional and sexual connection and pleasure with the same person. She has conducted seminars, workshops, and been keynote speaker at conferences throughout the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia for the past 27 years. She blogs at NewsMax.com on sexuality and relationships, and her website, www.SexSmart.com is a resource for patients and clinicians. She is in private practice in the Boston area, where she sees individuals and couples. 

Graham VerLee, MD

Graham VerLee, MD joined Maine Medical Partners Urology in 2011, and has specialized in the treatment of benign men’s health conditions including BPH, erectile dysfunction, urethral stricture disease, and male factor infertility. 

He completed his medical training at the University of Vermont, his surgical internship at the University of Massachusetts, and his urology residency at the University of Illinois.  He has served several years as Scientific Program Chair and then co-chair for the Maine Urological Association’s Annual Winter Meeting. 

 Susan Ramsey, PT, MA 

Susan Ramsey PT, MA is a pelvic floor rehab therapist, educator , consultant and workshop facilitator. She has spent over 20 years advocating for patients with pelvic floor issues. She started the first physical therapy private practices in Maine in 2002 devoted solely to women, men and children with pelvic floor dysfunction. Her clinical subspecialty is sexual medicine and pelvic pain in women and men. Susan was an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy for over 10 years at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia  and Harcum College in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania 

 She collaborates with sex therapists, psychologists, physicians and other health care professionals  throughout New England to promote quality sexual function for all of her clients.  

Marilyn R. Gugliucci, MA, Ph.D.

Marilyn R. Gugliucci, MA, Ph.D. is a Professor and the Director for Geriatrics Education and Research, as well as  the Director of U-ExCEL (UNE~Exercise and Conditioning for Easier Living) Fitness/Wellness Program for older adults within the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine Division of Geriatrics. Her "Learning by Living" research projects, UNECOM signature programs, advances medical and health professions students' learning through the application of ethnographic/ autobiographic immersion research methods.  Learning by Living: Nursing Home Immersion involves "admitting" medical students into nursing homes to live the life of an elder resident for 10-14 days complete with a diagnosis and standard procedures of care.  The Learning by Living: 48 Hour Hospice Home research immerses students into an 18 bed in-patient hospice home to work with an interprofessional team in providing patient care, family support, and post mortem care.  She also conducts research on older adult function, falls, and proprioception.

 Erin Belfort, MD

Erin Belfort, MD is the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Training Director, Psychiatrist for the Gender Clinic at Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, Maine Medical Center. 

Dr. Belfort grew up in Maine and was excited to return to Maine Medical Center after medical school at the University of Vermont, residency in general psychiatry at the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship training at Cambridge Hospital/Harvard Medical School. She is currently the fellowship training director for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Her academic interests include the risks and benefits of social media use for adolescents and she is actively involved with the media committee at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP). Other clinical interests include working with gender expansive youth and their familie s and Family Therapy teaching and training.

Amy Mayhew, MD, MPH

Amy M. Mayhew, MD, MPH is the Clinical Director for the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic at Maine Medical Center

has joined the Department of Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center, Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Mayhew will assume physician leadership for the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Division’s outpatient clinic at 66 Bramhall Street.

Dr. Mayhew completed her Master’s Degree in Public Health from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She was a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal. She earned her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester NY. She completed a residency in Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston TX, then a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry from Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, MA. She is Board certified in both Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
