Employment: Building New Tools & Supports for Direct Service and the Community with Rainer Project Agencies
This webinar will focus on a project that started prior to Covid-19 within Pierce County- The Rainer Employment Project; followed by an interactive panellists’ conversation and Q/A on the comeback of providing direct support and services within our communities by four employment providers. Four agencies within Pierce County partnered with Pierce County Developmental Disabilities, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation along with residents at Rainer State school for an opportunity to pursue community employment within their community. The following agencies Cares, Morningside, Trillium and Vadis will discuss their experience with the project to date and providing supports throughout Covid-19. Our panellist will also share and discuss how their services and approaches have changed due to the current restrictions within the community and workplace from Covid-19. Much of the presentation will be interactive taking your questions on supporting individuals, outreach to employers, efforts of rebuilding employment services, the virtual role of the employment consultant, the state of employment and workplace environmental changes. During these unclear times, getting into and staying in work can seem even more challenging, by coming together we can share and learn from what we know and build a stronger future moving forward.
