Wise Webinar Series:

Assistive Technology for Independence: Emerging Technology to Support Consumers and Caregivers

Curt Johnson

Please join us on Thursday, July 29th for our webinar, Assistive Technology for Independence: Emerging Technology to Support Consumers and Caregivers" with Curt Johnson.

This presentation will explore current and emerging technologies or devices that provide solutions that move between home, school and work. Our world is changing rapidly with new technology becoming available with improved price points and functionality. Use of assistive technology reduces demands on the caregiver, enhances consumer self-confidence and self-worth. Technologies supporting independent living, memory, organization, medication and stress management will be discussed. This presentation will review basic technology decision making, define low to high tech solutions and showcase numerous emerging technology devices.

Learning Objectives (Info, tools, and skills attendees will receive):

  • Attendees will be able to identify three types of emerging technologies that assist with independence.
  • Attendees will be able to identify differences between low, mid and high-tech devices.
  • Attendees will be able to identify three activities that can be completed through use of a digital assistant.
  • Attendees will be able to identify three local, state or federal resources to  explore assistive technology options.
