How to Start Your Business

ABOUT the Workshop

Attend this workshop to help you test your new business idea and get you started on the right path. 

This introductory workshop focuses on the concept of testing your business idea and identifying the key factors that influence start-up success. It will provide you with an overview of the skills and tools you need when deciding to start a business.

In this module, you will be introduced to:

*advantages and disadvantages of owning a business
*most profitable legal form for your business
*the fundamentals of formation
*organization
*marketing
*cash flow 
*funding sources

 

 

Dr. Dionne L. Boyd is a Marketing Consultant (Luxury, Fashion, and Retail), Professional Coach, Professor, Subject Matter Expert, Branding Expert and Business Strategist. She is CEO and Founder of Image Architects & Management, a Global Marketing and Professional Coaching Firm. She consults and coaches retail and fashion brands, corporations, Universities, businesses, career professionals, and professional athletes. To date she has written and designed over 40 different business, fashion, marketing, and entrepreneurship courses.

As an educator, she has been an adjunct Professor for the past 13 years at American Intercontinental University, Southern New Hampshire University, Strayer University, LIM College in NYC and SCAD Atlanta. She received her B.S. degree from Hampton University in Marketing and Merchandising, earned a Master’s degree in Marketing with a concentration in International Business from Mercer University, completed her doctorate in Marketing from Argosy University and recently obtained her Professional Certification from one of the top Coaching certifications recognized by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) from North Carolina State University. 

She enjoys running marathons, creative and fashion marketing, writing and photography, international travel and active mentorship with New Directions Outreach Ministry in Decatur Georgia as well as mentoring several young professionals embarking upon entrepreneurship. She calls them her “Fab Five.”
