Come one, come all! Join Willamette Riverkeeper, City of Eugene Parks and Willamalane Parks and Recreation to remove English Ivy, which has grown and twined around many trees in the riparian area along the Willamette River corridor, jeopardizing their growth and structure. You can "free the trees" by tearing away the invasive species to enhance health in the forest! Please bring your own water to stay hydrated, plan to practice safe social distancing and bring/wear a mask. Tools, gloves, and bags will be provided. This is a free event, suitable for all ages. Registration required with limited space.
Please meet at 9AM and register for one of two locations:
Eastgate Woodlands in Springfield: Meet at Heron Park aka: Aspen Street boat launch at 9AM. Park in the entry and lot near the restroom and walk down the road toward the river. Look for the Willamalane canopy.
Alton Baker Park in Eugene: Meet at the Alton Baker boat ramp. As you enter Alton Baker Park, drive over the canoe canal and past the parking areas. Follow the road left and take your first paved right turn where the boat ramp sign is located. Look for the City of Eugene canopy.
Your River thanks you!
