Willing Workers On Local Farms (WWOLF) WWOLF is a community program of Central Oregon Locavore Non-Profit with the goal of lending a hand to small farmers while educating the community about the true nature of local food.
We have revamped our program to adhere to the recommendations set forth by the Oregon Health Authority, CDC, and Gov. Kate Brown. Rest assured, we are taking every precaution to keep you safe. We hope you join us!
How It Works You will meet the group at Hope Springs Dairy a few miles east of Bend at 9am. After a round of introductions at the farm, we will split into groups and get to work. We will break for lunch around 12:30 and then wrap up our day.
What to Expect Good times, new friends, and a boots-on-the-ground education about local farming practices. We love dogs, but please leave them at home for this event.
What to Bring: Snacks and water, work gloves, your favorite hand tool, face mask for times when 6-foot distancing isn't possible, closed-toe shoes, layers for the weather, and sunscreen. Tools and all materials needed to complete tasks will be provided by the farm. Soup and bread will be provided for lunch along with some product from the farm, or bring your own! We will have a hand washing station and sanitizer for participant use.
About Hope Springs Dairy: We are the McCourtney’s. All eleven of us— Zane, Summer, Eryn, Elijah, Ezekiel, Elizabeth, Elyssa, Ethan, Eliannah, Ezra and Enoch— have been farming together both locally and internationally for many years. We resided in Uganda for 10 years before moving back to Oregon in 2013. We recently took over Hope Springs Dairy located in Bend, after running McCourtney Family Farm in Madras, OR; merging the two farms into one! Our pleasure is in serving our local community with the highest quality food— real food. Our micro-dairy is dedicated to providing real raw cow and goats milk through our dedicated herdshare program.
