Hello there!

Thank you so much for joining us for our first Cooking for Hope fundraiser! This event will be hosted by our amazing Hospitality Manager, Chef Ken. Those who participate are in for a real treat!

The Cooking for Hope event on Saturday, October 3rd, will raise funds to aid in our mission
and continue to bring joy to our guests. During this virtual event, Chef Ken will offer a full cooking class with a spectacular brunch menu. You are welcome to cook along with him or watch and prepare the food at a later time.
Not available to cook with us on October 3rd? A recording of the event will be provided after completion!

Tickets are $50 and valid for an entire household, making this the perfect virtual event for the entire family!

With your purchase, you will receive a bottle of 2017 Santa Lucia Highland Chardonnay Stainless Steel ($24 retail value) from Odonata. This delicious wine will be utilized in a unique brunch cocktail recipe, created by Chef Ken. You won't want to miss it!

Please note: you must be able to pick up your bottle of wine at Wellspring Women's Center in Oak Park, Sacramento. If you are not local and would still like to attend, sans a bottle of wine, you are more than welcome and we would love to have you!

Live feed access, pick-up details, and more will be included in your registration. We can't wait to see you there!

Hosted by a Culinary Master: Chef Ken

Like any chef, Kenneth A. Bunns appreciates a compliment. Recently, while leaving Old Soul, the coffee shop on Broadway and 35th Street in Oak Park, he encounters three young men enjoying takeout food – fresh corn, Mexican style — they received from nearby Wellspring Women’s Center.

“Man, this is great!” says the older of the three.

A grin creases the face of the man known as “Chef,” who is winding up another workday as Wellspring’s new hospitality manager. The compliments to Chef are as good as currency.

Chef Ken joined Wellspring in March, after two years of retirement and, before that, an adventurous, wide-ranging and successful career in the many facets of food preparation, services and administration.
