Dr. Gary Vonk will discuss current and future trends in education
Speaker Profile:
Dr. Gary Vonk is an Associate Vice Chancellor at Keiser University where he provides leadership over the University’s Flagship Campus located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
A leader in higher education, as well as a faculty member and student mentor, Dr. Vonk has taught at the upper division university level in courses in business, management and technology. He joined the Keiser University organization in January of 2007 after a career of nearly thirty years in retailing and company turnaround management where he served as CEO, President and Senior Executive for a half dozen public and/or private companies.
Possessing start-up and turnaround business experience in a wide variety of service businesses, Dr. Vonk’s expertise lies in leading successful turnarounds, while building start-ups and business transformation initiatives. A change agent with demonstrated proficiency at leveraging strengths and gaining commitment to strategic and mission critical objectives, he has proven ability to lead high performance and market driven management and financial/technical teams.
While working at private sector companies Vonk invigorated profits and liquidity while generating equity capital and directing acquisition programs for a $5B commercial and residential real estate company, a corporate merchandising services company with $100 million in sales, a $1.2B annual sales franchise automotive repair company with 2700 locations in 20 countries, and more.
Vonk received his Doctorate of Business Administration-Entrepreneurship from Walden University. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Science in Business from San Diego State University. He has served on a number of boards of directors including the Workforce Alliance of Palm Beach County and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, the Palm Beach Sports Commission and Palm Beach County Educational Facilities Authority. He resides in Palm Beach, Florida.
